Isn’t it funny how we don’t give winter a second thought all summer long? Even as fall approaches, and the air gets a bit brisk, we still cling to thoughts of warm weather, wearing shorts and comfortable t-shirts for as long as we can. Oh, we know in the back of our mind that the cold weather is coming, it’s inevitable, but we just choose to overlook the facts…and then things get really crazy….
Horizon Goodwill Needs You To Donate Your Coat!
During the first blast of cold temperatures there is a rush of winter coat sales at every Horizon Goodwill store. Donated bomber jackets, parkas and wool overcoats that hung lonely on the rack all summer long, literally overnight, become our best selling items. That’s why we need your help!
For well over a century, Goodwill Industries® has been accepting donations of clothing, appliances, books and other household items. Ninety cents of every dollar generated from the sale of these donations go towards providing job training for people with barriers to employment. Helping members of your local community find meaningful work is a major step in strengthening our cities and towns. In the winter months, however, we must focus on a more basic, primal need—keeping people warm.
Horizon Goodwill needs your warm clothing donations to keep your friends and neighbors safe during these brutally cold months. All of the donated items we resell at our Horizon Goodwill stores are amazingly priced, making purchases much more affordable then new coats at department and discount stores
Now is a perfect time to go through your closets. How many old coats can you find that you will never wear again? What about your children’s closets; have they outgrown last year’s outerwear? Free up your valuable closet space by donating your older coats to Horizon Goodwill. At this time of year your donations do more than help fund local job training, they also provide a less expensive way for others to stay safe and warm.
