Horizon Goodwill Industries (HGI) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in Hagerstown, Maryland with a surrounding 17-county geographic area that encompasses parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia.
HGI has a dedicated Board of Directors that is committed to supporting the organization’s Mission of Removing Barriers, Creating Opportunities and reflecting its values of Passion, Character, Celebration, Service, and Compassion. Board members provide knowledge, expertise, resources and time to develop and review long-term plans, budgets, and policy. Board members also serve as ambassadors and advocates of Horizon Goodwill within the surrounding community by sharing the message of our Mission and connecting with community partners, business owners, and others.
Horizon Goodwill encourages board members to share their interests and professional experience as they serve on board committees such as Governance & Compliance, Mission & Outreach, and Operations & Finance. The full board of directors meets bi-monthly (six times per year) and committees meet monthly except for August. Board member terms are three years and members can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
