On Saturday, January 25, the Hagerstown Lions Club held their Winter Volunteer Event at Horizon Goodwill with the goal of sorting and packaging 1,000 books in three hours. The books will go to children in Pre-K through 5th grade in Hagerstown-area schools. The group was excited to exceed their goal and packaged 1,066 books! Horizon Goodwill has partnered with the Lions Club over the past four years on this book project and supplies books that have not sold in our stores and are destined for recycling. During 2019, this partnership put over 9,400 books into the hands of children in our community! Thank you, Hagerstown Lions Club, for your hard work on this project!
