A shocking statistic reveals why Project Realize is just what Washington County need. 21 percent of Washington County youths age 18 to 24 in 2016 were neither engaged in education nor employed. The program addresses this local issue by offering career exploration, skill development and community service options to help 14 to 24 year olds who have low self-esteem, feel lost or don’t feel like they have options for the next step.

New Program: Project Realize
Director of Work Force Development for Horizon Goodwill Industries, Brooke Grossman, discusses more about the new program for 2019.
“Project Realize! which is a two-generational mentorship, career exploration, and training program that will provide intervention to at-risk youth and their families. This approach will not only empower youth to take an active role in their future, but also provide adults in households with supports to gain the skills necessary to find success in the workforce. We are actively recruiting for one full and one part-time case manager to support Project Realize! as well as volunteer mentors.”
Project Realize Gets Funds
Maryland announces funding for Horizon Goodwill Industries’ Project Realize!
Project Realize mentors youth involved in the justice system, will get $80,922 from the 2.5 million in statewide funding for community and local programs.
