Why are we asking for financial donations?

While we’re known for our retail stores and ask for donations to help with that line of business, financial donations are a very important part of our revenue stream. We have a lot of success applying for Grants and winning many of them; they are usually for specific projects and have limitations applied to them. We would like to be able to direct the funding we receive from donors where they are needed.

We help with the following:

• Paying for a security deposit for someone that is working but doesn’t have reserve money to cover that extra cost.
• Providing bus vouchers to get people to and from work
• Purchasing food for the young adults who visit our Adolescent Clubhouse

There are many other types of things that we would like to provide the community but are limited by the ‘extra’ money that we have. Store sales are primarily for store operations, Mission programs, and organization overhead. Your donations can provide a lot of Good through out the Horizon Goodwill Industries territory.
