Hagerstown, we’re here for you. We believe our community’s future can be brighter, healthier, and full of opportunity, and we’re working to build that future right here at home.
In a recent interview with DC News Now, Horizon Goodwill President and CEO David Shuster and Vice President of Mission Advancement Nick Kline shared the vision behind some of our biggest community initiatives. Watch the full conversation below.
Removing Barriers to Social Mobility
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: where you live, what you earn, and the barriers you’ve faced should never determine whether you have access to the resources you need to thrive. It means meeting people where they are, creating opportunities, and connecting them with the resources they need to build a better future.
What We’re Building
Horizon Market
Horizon Market is being developed to bring fresh food and household staples to downtown Hagerstown, helping address food access challenges in our community.

Sylvia Frank Community Health Hub
The Health Hub is bringing health, mental health, and dental services together under one roof, creating greater access to care regardless of income.

Adolescent Clubhouse
Through the Adolescent Clubhouse, we’re creating a safe, supportive space for young people, particularly those growing up in challenging circumstances.

This is more than one project. It’s a vision for what’s possible when we invest in our people and our community. Hagerstown, we see what this community can become, and we’re building toward it, together.
